Mark DuMerton

President

Established in 1981 as a home-based business, Mark is the owner and President of M&L Painting Ltd. His relationship-based approach to business exemplifies strong core values and is summed up well by his statement, “If we create value for others, we create value for ourselves”. Relationship building has also been a key to growing a commercial real estate portfolio, construction projects and joint ventures with other business partners in recent years.

Mark’s community and philanthropic involvement speaks of a dedication that goes beyond business. Mark has served on several not-for-profit boards, including the Union Gospel Mission in Vancouver’s downtown eastside.

Mark and his wife Lynn have three grown children and seven grandchildren. His passions include golfing, fishing and the Vancouver Canucks.

Whether Mark is focused on his family, business or community, his life emulates integrity, honesty and loyalty.

Aman Thandi

Director of Finance

Aman joined the team in 2017 and is M&L Painting’s Director of Finance.

Aman is an accomplished financial professional and holds a CPA, CGA designation. She draws from her business and financial education background in the pursuit of operational excellence and business improvement.

She is passionate about process improvement in all areas of business. Aman excels in financial reporting and analysis, streamlining processes, and developing and effectively managing her team. In addition to leading the Finance Team, she is responsible for maintaining relationships with the company’s bankers, auditors, lawyers, insurance brokers, and tax authorities.

Aman loves making memories around the world with her husband and young daughter. She is passionate about music and enjoying as much quality time with her family and friends as possible.

Aman feels fortunate to be part of such a strong leadership team.

Alec DuMerton

Managing Estimator

Alec is the Managing Estimator at M&L Painting. Since joining the company in 2014, he worked in both the Estimating and Project Management departments before focusing all of his energy on Estimating.

Alec received a degree in Kinesiology and Biology from the University of the Fraser Valley. After receiving his degree, he began his professional career in the health and wellness industry before moving into the construction sector.

Alec is growth-oriented and continually pursuing new client partnerships and opportunities. He has a team-centered approach that was developed in childhood, continued through his collegiate athletic career as a player and coach, and he has brought it to his managerial role where he loves to teach and help others succeed.

He and his wife Brooke are the proud parents of two young children.

Alec is naturally optimistic with a bright outlook on M&L Painting’s future and his role in it.

Mitch Currie

Senior Project Manager

Mitch joined M&L Painting in 2010, spending three years in the estimating department before moving to the project management side of the company where he has since become Senior Project Manager.

Mitch graduated from the business program at University of the Fraser Valley. With many years in the construction industry, his focus in recent years has been in the coatings industry with extensive institutional, residential and commercial portfolios. He has managed projects in Nunavut, Northwest Territories, Whitehorse, Alberta and BC.

A large part of Mitch’s growing success has been his ability to communicate and understand clients’ site challenges and come up with solutions. In his current managerial role, Mitch fosters an environment of teamwork and an employee-first approach as he and the company believe that if you take care of your employees, they will take care of your customers. Mitch has a passion for refining processes by making them more efficient, tackling new and complex jobs, and helping his team grow and develop their skills.

Mitch and his wife Dana have three daughters.
